- 1 tablespoon of freshly grated coconut

- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Mustard and lime as needed
- 1 tablespoon coarse coriander seeds

- Sugar or granulated sugar 2-3 tbsp
- 2 dry red chillies
- Coriander leaves and curry to taste
- 1 clove garlic, roughly minced
Steps to make Amla Rasam/Soup
- Pour the amla into the pressure cooker

- Remove the seeds and grind the pulp to a paste

- Heat a tablespoon of oil, add mustard paste and spread it
- Now heat the coarse coriander seeds, dry red chillies, curry leaves and coarsely minced garlic cloves for 30 seconds until the garlic becomes fragrant.

- Now add amila paste, salt and black pepper

- Add jaggery or just sugar to reduce the bitterness of amla. Now add painter's powder. Add water and grind to desired consistency.
- Boil for 5 minutes
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and coconut leaves and serve hot
